Goucher College Field Hockey, joined by four recruits, took a trip to a farm in Baltimore, Maryland where they successfully got lost in a corn maze, found pumpkins to carve, explored this tee-pee and ended up on the news!

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Executive Director Jennifer Goodrich announced the National Academic Team award yesterday, March 9, 2011. This award recognizes schools that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the Fall 2010 semester.
Goucher College Field Hockey was honored to finish in the number two seat this year, a three place jump from last year’s number five seat.
Goucher Field Hockey’s cumulative team GPA was 3.55, beat out only by Worster State University (3.57).
Other schools recognized with this award were Bowdoin College (3.52), Haverford College (3.50), and Clark University and Swarthmore College tied at 3.48.

I think sportsmanship is knowing that it is a game, that we are only as a good as our opponents, and whether you win or lose, to always give 100 percent.
